How many people love their dog sleeping in bed with them? I do not know the number or percentage but I’m sure it’s a high number. When I had my dog I didn’t even need to call his name. Hw would jump onto my bed as soon as I settled down for the night. I wouldn\u2019t have it any other way. In this article, I endorse the pros of sleeping with your dog and address some of the cons.<\/p>\n

Do you love your dog sleeping in bed with you?<\/h2>\n

I do, how about you?<\/p>\n

Anyone who sleeps with their dog loves their dog or else they would kick their butt out and onto the floor. It doesn’t mean you don’t love your dog if he doesn’t sleep with you – I’m sure you do love him.<\/p>\n

Below are some points covered when this topic is brought up in casual conversation. If you’ve always thought it was wrong to have your dog sleep with you, then maybe this list will change your mind.<\/p>\n

Pros and cons of sleeping with your dog<\/h3>\n

In case your wondering, there have been studies stating that it is beneficial to have your dog sleeping with you in your bed. There are some exceptions but let\u2019s look at the list of pros and cons and you can judge for yourself:<\/p>\n

Pros<\/span><\/p>\n

1. It\u2019s comforting to have your best friend in bed with you. This is the number one reason for me.<\/p>\n

2. It helps with anxiety. They can reduce feelings of loneliness and depression.<\/p>\n

3. Save energy. You can turn down the heat in the colder months and your dog will keep you warm. Dogs have higher temperatures than humans so make sure to get him under the blankets and close to you.<\/p>\n

4. Safety. Your dog will bark and wake you up if he hears any sounds in or around your home.<\/p>\n

5. It\u2019s good for your dog too! It makes your dog feel safe and secure which means you have a happy dog.<\/p>\n

Cons<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Your bed is too high for your small dog. This is a real concern. Your dog could injure himself if he jumps or falls out of your bed. It\u2019s better that your dog is healthy than to risk his or her health. Or you could buy or build a padded ramp for him (dogs are so spoiled).<\/p>\n

2. You may lose sleep. Why cares? The only people who should worry about losing sleep because of their dogs are brain surgeons and nuclear power plant engineers.<\/p>\n

3. Potential relationship problems. You may lose your partner if they don’t like dogs. But why are you dating someone who doesn’t LOVE dogs?<\/p>\n

4. Oversleeping. He or she won’t wake you up if your alarm doesn’t go off. Your dog wants you to sleep in – all the time.<\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/h2>\n

Let your dog sleep in bed with you or with other members of your home. If your dog doesn\u2019t already sleep with you, then give a try and you\u2019ll find out if it\u2019s good for you or not. If you do not have a dog then consider adopting one.<\/p>\n
